DRUG CHARGES

In Pennsylvania an individual may be charged with one or more of the following:

Possession With the Intent to Distribute (PWID) a felony
Simple Possession a misdemeanor
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a misdemeanor

If convicted of any of the crimes the penalties can be severe and may include mandatory minimum jail sentences, fines, and court costs. Further, a conviction for a drug related charge can result in the loss of your driver’s license in the state, and may affect your ability to apply for certain federal loans. Many times an individual charged with a possession crime figures there is nothing I can do-that is never correct. In some cases the police may have made errors, in obtaining the search warrant, or the officer may not have had probable cause for the traffic stop and/or the search of your person or belongings. Finally, in many cases an individual is charged with Possession With the Intent to Distribute based on the quantity found-in many cases the individual may have a slightly larger quantity because of their drug addiction and in fact never intended to sell or distribute drugs.
